We all love photography: the beauty of being able to capture a moment for it to last forever is remarkable and as time has progressed, so have technology and techniques. However, despite all this forward movement; our seasons and our times of year still stay (relatively) the same.
There are some really key points in the year that offer valuable and beautiful opportunities to take some stunning photographs. These could be artistic, sentimental, abstract…of course, the list goes on…but Christmas in particular, is a period that has an abundance of creative opportunities.
For whatever reason you have your camera in your hand, the ornaments, the objects and the props that are available to you will allow you to let your mind flow freely.
The crisp white snow, the deep clear sky, the twinkling fairy lights, the cosy house, the roaring fire, the sparkling baubles, the glittering tinsel, the flickering candles all offer absolutely stunning backgrounds.
Then when it comes to your subject, the afore-mentioned beauties could take centre-stage or you could add to them an excited smile from a child, a joyful expression of love from an elder, a relaxed look from a sleeping creature cosied up or a dressed-up-to-the-nines tree.
Being a photographer, whether it’s your profession or a hobby, means you’re an artist. It means you’re a ‘creative’ and it means you can express yourself and your sentiments through a medium that is incredibly highly regarded throughout the world. And, of course, when Christmas finally arrives following your advent countdown, you can put your artistic mark on it, in which ever way you please.
Have a great Christmas from us all at Photofolio and remember to keep your camera to hand!
