Real Photography, Not AI: Human-Made Stock Images

Every image on Photofolio is a real photograph by a named photographer — no AI-generated images, no composites. Browse human-made, royalty-free stock photography priced in pounds.

Photofolio does not sell AI-generated images and does not accept them from contributors. Every picture in the library was taken by a photographer, with a camera, of something that was actually there. We think that matters more every month: readers are increasingly good at spotting generated imagery, and brands are increasingly nervous about the legal and reputational questions it raises.

What “real” means here

Each image page credits the photographer or agency and carries the copyright notice, the licence and — where relevant — release status. Our structured data tells search engines the same thing, so images found through Google Images carry their provenance with them. Standard retouching is allowed; compositing and generative fills are not.

Why buyers care

Commercial-use certainty: photographs of real people and places with releases have clear rights that generated images cannot yet offer. Editorial integrity: newsrooms and publishers need to know a picture is a record, not a rendering. And audience trust: authentic imagery consistently outperforms the uncanny.

Licensing and price

Every image comes with our Standard royalty-free licence from 1 credit (£6). If you need a written assurance of provenance for a tender or a client, email support@photofolio.co.uk and we will provide one.
