Editorial photography documents the world as it is: street scenes, signage, public events, infrastructure and the small oddities of everyday life. The images here are licensed for editorial use — news, features, education, commentary and illustration of a story — rather than for advertising a product or service.
That distinction matters. An editorial image may contain recognisable people, brands or private property for which no release exists; it is fine to use it to illustrate an article about that subject, and not fine to use it to promote something. If you have a commercial use in mind, our Nature, Objects and Abstract categories are release-free by nature, and many People and Business images are model-released and marked as such.
